Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe resigns

Following a military coup and call for impeachment, Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe has resigned, bringing an end to 37 years of rule and sparking jubilant celebrations in the nation's streets.

Paul Kenyon, author of Dictatorland: the men who stole Africa, spoke to Radio 4's Today programme about the country's complicated political history since independence.
