Seamus O'Mahony wins at the BMA Medical Book Awards

Last night, Monday 11th September, Head of Zeus were delighted to join Seamus O'Mahony at the British Medical Association's Medical Book Awards where his book, The Way We Die Now, picked up the BMA Council Chair's Choice Award for 2017.

Dr Seamus O'Mahony with editor Neil Belton

The Way We Die Now explores the ways in which society has lost the ability to deal with death. O'Mahony reflects wisely on the strange phenomenon that sees death granted a large stage for public suffering while in private we do our best to banish any thought of death and make a good death increasingly difficult to achieve. Dr Chaand Nagpaul, Chair of Council of the British Medical Association described The Way We Die Now as ‘a thought provoking read, written in a captivating style drawn from anecdotes from the author’s wide personal and medical experience and which unlike other books on the subject, directly challenges current societal and medical thinking around death.’

The Way We Die Now is available in hardback, paperback and ebook
