Hello from Amanda Prowse

Amanda Prowse is the author of several novels, including the number 1 bestsellers What Have I Done?, Perfect Daughter and My Husband's Wife. Her latest book, Anna: One Love, Two Stories, was published on Thursday.

Goodness me! I am almost too chilly to write this!

Someone appears to have picked up the UK and accidentally dropped it somewhere close the Arctic Circle… and if this is the case, why oh why could they not have dropped us in the Caribbean? I hardly dare look at social media right now, it’s either pictures of people suffering in the snow or pictures of people on a beach, cocktail held aloft, laughing at our suffering.

I do hope you are keeping warm and snug. I am refusing to get out of my pyjamas and have a constantly full mug of tea. In fact, come to think of it, this weather rather suits me!

The kids are home and I am truly happy when we are all together under one roof, despite the fact they interrupt my writing with their requests for bacon sandwiches and the never-ending cycle of laundry that magics itself from thin air.

I am so very excited that my new novel Anna is coming out this Thursday, 8th March. And Anna is quickly followed by Theo which comes out on 7th April.

I have wanted to write the stories of these characters for quite some time, and I can’t tell you what a joy it is to finally see them in print. Anna and Theo: One Love, Two Stories tells the separate, but entwined, stories of Anna and Theo from when they are small children and follows their lives together after they fall in love. I wanted to write a love story that gave you a 360° view of a relationship. The moment in both books when they meet is something very special.

Both are very different characters, with different life experiences. Anna knows loss and suffering and is from a deprived background. All she wants in life is a family. Theo comes from privilege, enjoying all that money can buy. But he has always been desperately lonely, and he suffers from his parent’s indifference to him and having been horribly bullied at school. Both are looking for an anchor, both are looking for someone to hold their hand and tell them that everything is going to be okay. But is love going to be enough to bind these two wonderful characters, or will the experiences that have shaped them be too much for them to overcome?

I cannot wait to hear what you think of these two novels – I love these characters and I hope you will too.

I send you all my love and would like to say a massive thank you for your support. I continue to wake every day with a feeling of gratitude towards every single one of you who reads my stories.

Stay toasty.
